In a bid to ensure the safety of local residents, contractors successfully removed adhesive residue from a car park in Gloucester, paving the way for the installation of modern fire-retardant panels to be installed. The car park serves as a vital parking area for tenants living in the surrounding flats.
Safety first
The residue removal process was meticulously carried out, ensuring the concrete surface was left clean and fully prepared for the new panels. This upgrade promises to keep the surrounding buildings safe for many years to come.
Efficient and effective sand blasting
The operation utilised the Quill Falcon Cyclone 120 trailer, a dustless blasting system that allowed the contractors to work efficiently with minimum disruption to the tenants’ use of the car park. By sectioning off half of the car park at a time, the team ensured that vehicles remained dust-free, a significant advantage over traditional dry blasting methods.
Additionally, the use of a blast hose with a 1-metre long lance, enabled operators to perform the task from ground level, eliminating the need for towers or other high-level working platforms. This approach not only enhanced safety but also streamlined the entire process.
The successful completion of this project marks a notable improvement in the safety standards of the area, providing peace of mind to the residents and setting a precedent for future upgrades.
