Challenging locations are just another day at the office for Quill Falcon engineers!

One of our recent Quill Falcon Precision Dustless Blasting Systems training courses was held at Scapa Flow, just off the Orkney Islands, aboard the Safe Caledonia vessel on behalf of leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation vessels, Prosafe Offshore Limited.

Built in 1982, the Safe Caledonia is a large working deck moored with thruster assist semi-submersible ASV, that houses workshop space, living quarters with up to 454 beds, offices, client workstations, and warehousing.

Quill Falcon sent an engineer to train the Prosafe staff on handling and maintaining the Precision Dustless Blasting Systems in a location that is both challenging and distinctly individual.

The unit the team were trained on is their own Quill Falcon 60 pot, which they use offshore for small repairs, maintenance and paint preparation. The blast pot runs off the vessel’s onboard compressor and because it uses so little potable water ( 300-350 ml per minute) it’s ideal for offshore work where potable water is a valuable resource.

If you’ve had a change in personnel and/or need refresher training or would like further information on our range of dustless blasting systems and breathing apparatus, get in touch.
