Expertise in restoration
Nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside, a charming 19th-century cottage needed careful restoration to bring it back to its former glory. The issue lay with the painted render. With the passing years the waterproof coating was no longer fit for purpose and the cottage was now suffering from internal damp.
The challenge
One of the key challenges of this project was the intricate nature of the cottage’s structure. With numerous nooks and crannies, a flexible and portable system was needed to allow the team on-site to work efficiently throughout. The portability of the Quill Falcon 60T enabled the easy navigation of the space, ensuring a precise and thorough restoration process.
On-site training
As this was the first time the building team had used the Quill Falcon equipment, James Fieldhouse, our Sales Engineer for the South, provided comprehensive on-site training. Our experts guided them through the process, ensuring they understood how to operate the unit safely and effectively.
The transformation
Removing the render revealed damage to the gable, chimney stack and several window lintels. Identifying the issues allowed for essential repairs to be carried out properly. Following the repairs, the entire building was repointed using traditional lime mortar, preserving its historic charm.
